Rouge Agent – SNEAK PEEK!!!

Now Married. I know I said I’ll regret it when I did, but I have the most loving husband. Sam has always been there, well, I think you know that. 8 years on, we have the most gorgous son ever! Blake Adam Doughty is starting his first year of Primary School at Bongeilla Primary School. I think I’m having flashbacks to my first day. I remember Mum fussing over me most of the moring, nearly making Sammi and I late. I didn’t care about John being late, I only cared about Sammi and I. I laughed silently at the thought.
“Do I get to hear the joke?” Sam asked when he entered the room with Blake’s school bag.
“It wasn’t very funny.” I laughed. Even then it seemed like yesterday I had walked down the aisle. I watched Sam as he walked over to the fridge and grabbed Blake’s lunchbox.
“MUM!” Blake yelled from his bedroom. I put my hands over my ears, it was a little too loud for my ears and sensitive hearing. Being a witch is sometimes annoying.
“Oops, sorry.” Blake said quieter when he reached the bottom of the stairs. Sam laughed quietly.
“Now I know the upside to being a Collector only,” I whispered. Sam laughed louder this time. I shook my head then turned to my son, “What was it, hun?”
“Where are my shoes?” Blake asked, looking around the kitchen. Sam laughed again, MUCH louder then before. I sighed.
“Over there” Sam pointed to the box of white sneakers we had bought just last week.
“Thanks” Blake chirpd, running over to them. Sam laugehd once more walking to stand behind the chair I sat in.
“Why aren;t you at work yet?” I asked, looking up at Sam.
“Hm, I don’t think I start at 9″ he chuckled. Sam quickly leaned in to kiss me.
“Ugh, gross” Lily said from the doorway. John standing next to her, an arm around her waist. A little girl with the same blonde hair as Lily bounced around John and ran to me, hugging me around the shoulders.
“Woh, Kirsten” I said. She laughed, stepping back. She put her hand on my forhead. Faces filtered through my head, all of me, but each showed a different emotion.
“Kirsten, you know you have to speak at school, no fancy images” John said.
“Let the kids have some fun John” Sam laughed. The images kept filtering through my head, “How are you today?” was the sentence that I picked out of those pictures.
“I’m good, you?” I asked Kirsten. She laughed with Sam.
“Hey Kirsten!” Blake said from the doorway.
“Hey Blake!” Kirsten said, turning from me to Blake. I shook my head, watching Kirsten and Blake chat as they turned on the TV.
“It’s too bad they’re related, they’d make a good couple” Lily sighed.
“They’re in-laws, not blood relatives” I pointed out. Lily and John laughed.
“What?” I asked confused.
“Step-in-laws, remember? Holly was Rosalie’s step-mum, making Mum your step-cousin, making them step-in-laws” John explained, ticking each finger at each name.
“Okay, you have a point” Sam said, his eyes flickered to me. I still haven’t gotten over the funeral. Mum and Dad were shot at in a drive-by in Melbourne, 3 months ago. Drive-by’s are rare in Australia, but this was something serious. Mum died on the scene and Dad died in surjery. There were no wittnesses to describe the shooters face.
“I’m fine” I said to Sam, who shook his head.
“Okay, so whats being done about the missing persons case out at Wangaratta?” Lily asked, changing teh subject from one of the last cases I did.
“It’s been a week, non ransom call, nothing” I explained.
“At all?” John asked
“None, I don’t even understand why they didn’t call in a higher authority station. Instead they called us” Sam sighed.
“It’s because the station out there is being re-built ‘cos of a fire that went through” Lily explained, she pointed towards the week-old newspaper that was on the table.
“Ah yes, they’re thinking it’s an arsonist, not a natural fire” Sam added.
“Bush fire, hun, it’s called a bush fire” I laughed.
“So…?” Sam asked. To stop me from answering, Sam’s phone rung. Just before he could get up to answer it, mine rang.
Lily laughed, “The reason a married couple should never have the same job. Well, they can if it’s not in the exact same place” I sighed picking me phone off the table.
“Commander Marie-Jane Doughty speaking” I said with a HUGE lack of enthusiasm in my voice. The others laughed.
“Marie, the boss wants the whole lot of yous in” Constable Latamore said.
“Okay, for starters, Pete. What do you mean by ‘whole lot of yous’ and whats going on?” I asked. Sam’s eyes went straight to the newspaper, Lily and John’s on me.
“We have a lead on the Wangaratta case, but we don’t know what it means” Pete explained.
“Does the Deputy Commissioner know?” I asked.
“Yes, and he wants you, Sam and everyone who you know and trust, but they need to have some sort of connection to the case”
“Than that’s just Sam and I” I argued.
“Soon it will be more then that” Pete persisted.
“Constable Pete Latamore, are you trying to avoid my order, or make this case harder for all of us?” I asked sternly. Sam laughed silently, John bit his lip to hold back his laughter, and Lily stared at me in shock.
“Neither, but-”
“Don’t but me” I snapped, “Sam and I only, wait until we see the lead as relevent to them” Pete diliberated for a minute
“Yes Marie” Pete said in defeat.
“Goodbye” I said firmly.
“C-yah” Pete said.
I flipped the phone shut, “Stupid Probies” I muttered.
“Pete isn’t a probie, he just doesn’t like promotions” Sam laughed.
“He’s never been promoted Sam” Lily reminded him. John gave up biting his lip and started laughing, loudly.
“Lily, could you drop the kids off this morning? Pete needs us at the station” I asked Lily.
“Sure” she said, “We’ll pick them up too”
“Thanks” I mouthed to her, just as Sam left the room to get ready for work.
I hate acting human, it’s really – odd, persay. We had to go to the station at a normal pace, which I swear
Really.
Sucks!
The heat outside was perfect for me, it was normal for Sam to turn the AC all the way up. Sam laughed when I shivered, and he placed a hand on my arm, his thumb running circles on it.
“Put that hand back on the wheel” I laughed.
“I’m not a complete clutz” Sam mused, I grabbed his hand. We pulled into the next street. the sirens could be heard from this distance, even by someone who was ‘normal’.
“What’s going on?” Sam asked Deputy Commisioner Dolton, when we got out of the car.
“Look for yourself Sergent” Deputy Commisioner Dolton pointed towards the windows.
“Oh, crap” I mutteres, breathing through my mouth slowly.
“What happened?” Sam asked again, his tone rising.
“Sergent Doughty, what is behind your tone?” Dolton asked Sam, looking affended.
“Sam, calm down” I whispered. I looked around the front of the station. 27 bullet holes all together, 3 in each window. Blood scattered along each window, and all along the wall. There was blood smeared in places on the ground. Something white on the door took my interest, what was it? Paper? Why would there be paper stuck to the door, and wouldn’t someone have collected it by now?
“Was anything taken, sir?” I asked Dolton.
“Not that anyone knows of” he answered. I grabbed at my bag, searching for latex gloves. When I found them I let go of Sam’s hand, and walked up to the tape lifting it up.
“Hold it right there” someone said from inside the tapeline. I quickly grabbed the badge that hung around my neck, my eyes were still on the white thing on the door.
“Oh, then come on” the man said. He watched me as I walked over to the door. What i had suspected to be paper was paper. I hate being smart. A bullet hole was lodged in the top-left-hand corner of the paper.
“Can I have some tweesers?” I asked, waving my hand randomly behind my back, my eyes were still on the 9mm bullet hole. Someone placed a pair of tweesers in my hand. I picked at the hole with them, until the bullet cam loose.
“Balistics” I said as I dropped the buller into an evidence jar. I quickly, but carefully ripped the paper off the door.
“Sam!” I yelled over my shoulder. Sam and Dolton ducked under the taoe, walking towards me.
“Marie?” Sam asked. I handed him the peice of paper. I stepped beside him quickly to read what it said. The hand writing was a little showy, but a little rough – rough in my words.

Hello Marie and Sam
it said.
“Marie, that’s Joseph’s handwriting” Sam said.
“It can’t be!” I muttered. Dolton looked at us, “Is there something you two would like to share?”
“What was stolen?” I asked
“Nothing that we know of” the man from before answered.
“Can I check the computers?” I asked Dolton.
“Go ahead” Dolton replied. I opened the door and shut it behind me. The lights were on and Jared was crouching next to a body, it looked familiar. The blond hair, green eyes – Constable Pete Latamore.
“Well, if it isn’t my favourite in-law!” Jared laughed.
“How’s Sammi going these days?” I asked logging onto the nearest computer.
“She’s getting bored over there” Jared sighed. Sammi has been in Iraq for teh past year. It’s been nearly 50 years since that war started over there, 20 since women were alowed to be deployed to Iraq. I actually don’t think that Jared and Sammi have ever been away from eachother for so long before, not since they started dating.
“Turn that frown upside-down” I said, turning to face Jared, “Sammi went there for everyine, and she knows that if she doesn’t make it back. That you’ll probably kill her yourself” Jared laughed at that. His hands froze as he searched one of Pete’s pockets.
“Jared?” I asked, worried sick.
“I’m okay, but, well, this is really hard to explain” Jared stummered. He finally pulled out a small peice of paper.
“Jared” I said again.
“Look, this is freaky for all of us Marie, but don’t go all bossy on me” Jared muttered, his eyes stuck on the paper, not even blinking. He turned the paper in my direction.
Hello Jared
How is Samantha?
was writen across the paper.
“Sam!” I yelled again.
“I’m not the only one who recognises that writing, am I?” Jared asked. The door flung open. Sam and Dolton enetered, argueing.
“Marie, tell me you have gloves on” Someone snapped at me. Turning around I could see familiar faces.
“Ian?” I asked in a whisper.
“Commander Doughty, I demand you tell me what in the world is going on!” Dolton snapped at me.
I stared at Ian for a moment, in confusion, “Ian, where’s Joseph?” I finally asked.
“I, was hoping you would know” Ian dsaid calmly, “He’s been missing since Sara was delt with”
We all stood around the computer – that ‘we’ being Sam, Dolton, Jared and I- them all staring as I went through all of the computer logs, seeing what was missing.
“He copied and erased everything to do with the drive-by in Melbourne and everything to do with the Wangarratta Missing Persons case” I explained, once my search finished.
“Which means there is nothing left…?” Dolton asked.
“What about the information on Alisha?” Ian pressed. I searched for everything with the keywords: ‘Alisha Lockworth’, ‘Sergeant Conolly’, and ‘Coulter’
“That little bitch erased all the Alisha stuff, even the murder case from Cairns” I muttered.
“Okay, now we have nothing left on those cases” Sam said.
“Wait, Ian, did anyone see Joseph back then, when Sara was running crazy around this boring town?” Jared asked, with a surpressed laugh.
“Yeah, he was there from time to time” Ian answered quickly.
“But he was M.I.A when Sara decided to take the fight to another level!” I added.
“You were knocked out half the time” Jared reminded me, while Sam and Ian stared at the screen.
Dolton stood up and took a few steps back, “We need to get you a few more officers, you team is short a few” he nodded in the direction that Petes body was. He was right, seeing as Myka was on holiday, and Julie was doing a case out in Wagga Wagga.
“No, it’s fine. Sam and I could do this case by ourselves” I argued. Everyone looked at me.
“Why should I let you work alone?” Dolton asked.
“Because if it is Joseph, he’ll be armed, and if you don’t want us working alone…” I hesitated, “Let Ian help” I continued. Dolton looked between Sam, Ian and I.
“What’s the worst that could happen?” jared asked Dolton.
“I’ll fire all three of yous if he does anything to jepitise this case” Dolton snapped at us.
“Yes sir” I mumbled. Sam only nodded his head. as Dolton stalked out of the room.
“He’s pissed ain’t he?” Sam whispered.
“We can’t tell him about it, he doesn’t need the pain” I said clearly. Jared snorted loudly.
“What?” I asked him.
“what is it with being a witch that makes you so grumpy?” Ian asked.
“The whole lot” I whispered.
Jared stood up, “We should probably get her home before she burns something to crisp” Sam grabbed my bag off the chair and helped me up, “Good idea”
“This case should be opan and shut…?” Ian mumbled.
“That depends on how hard Joseph wants us to find him” I added.
Great, we’re going on a wild goose hunt.

YAY! I actually finished it a few days ago, but I didn’t want to post anything until I had finished the Camp posts. I’m sorry about the delay on both. Anyway, I’m officialy up to Chapter 3 of Rouge Agent so that will be here soon. Even though with the laptop I did stuff up with names in the third book of the Family After Life series, but it won’t happen again. I am typing Rouge Agent up on the laptop meaning there will be no need for me to run out of binder paper. Which I only have a few sheets left of. Okay, so yeah. I better go and post it up on the other blog. Make sure that I live up to the whole point that I’m officialy finished the series after this book. Yes, I will somehow live on with Marie’s son, but it won’t be much of what Marie’s life is. I already have the ending of Rouge Agent planned out. And to be honest. it’s just as sad as the end of Dead End I cried typing it!
And Dead End I actually had the chance to spell check. The others are still fuzzy on spelling but I’m getting there! I remember they said High School wasn’t going to be easy, and to be honest. IT ISN’T!!!
So yeah, I have to go now.
LoveYous!
Paigee,, – Mwah!
P.S I’ll put the Rouge Agent sneak peek up soon!

Dresses
Ready
And about to take my suitcase out.
Breakfast is in 5 minutes. I’m trying not to think about it.
Paigee,, – Mwah

Hm, maybe thinking about it was the best option. He’s acting normal around his friends,
Strange
Anyhoo
Our three tasks were:
Yoga
Flying Fox
& Orientering.
The Yoga hurt. The Flying Fox was scary. And the Orientering was weird. I was in a group with Jack and B.J. for Orientering. Yeah, that ticked Hannah and Tarlee off heaps. Like I care. During the flying fox Leah and Tori kept singing that song where you use two people’s names and spell “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” about halfway through the song.
Using Jack’s & my name!
Gosh, he does have a girlfriend.
And it’s not me!
We’re on the bus a the moment. I have mozzie bite all over me from last night.
I’ll write in later!

Paigee,,
Mwah! – Times a million!
-That was after lunch so don’t think they aren’t feeding us – Lol!!

There goes the last water task and the last ‘dry’ task for the day.
The tubing down the river was fun. While some people were having their second go Jack and I threw rocks around the river.
Just before the throwing rocks part, We “Jack and I” walked AL the way throught the currents of the river. Just talking. We “This time the whole group” were travelling up stream to a deaper place for the tubing activity. Yeah, BUT!
Hannah FOLLOWED us the WHOLE way! Screaming nonsense like “Ooh La La”
Embarrising!!!!
So yeah, the next tast was rope course and the small climbing wall. Hannah freaked out when she got to the top. She was up there for 10 MINUTES!
What the Firetruck!
Lol.
Leah won’t let me say fuc* so now I have to say firetruck. Big Lol!!!
Okay so when all the tasks in the rope course were done. Jack and I went back across the bridge to find the blackberry plants. He picked heaps and I only picked about half a handful.
No, they aren’t poisness. Only the red ones are.
Hm, I think thats it so far. Dinner is in about 20 minutes.
Love Yoohs!
Paigee,, – Mwah!
P.s Theres NOTHING going on between me and Jack Just friends. He has a girlfriend anyway.

Typical Male
God Dam Typical Male!!
I don’t know if you girls have noticed but when a guy is around his other friends, he’s a jerk.
BUT!
When he’s not he’s all soft and caring.
What is with that? I MEAN IT!
What in the world is with that?
I’m really curious as to why it happends. What? Near their friends they have to be ‘cool’? Gosh, guys are such jerks.
I don’t even want to think about it.
FYI – it’s after dinner I need to get ready for the movie.
Byee’s!!
Paigee,, – Mwah

Just got back from the movie – it was Inkheart. I don’t even want to talk about him. It’s a waste of time.
I’ll talk tomorrow
Loveyous!

Yeah, it’s supposed to be a ‘dry’ thing but we stopped at a small lake for a dip. Hm, I think I’m homesick. I swear this place sucks so far. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but
I
WANT

Rouge Agent – The Snak Peek in Marie-Jane’s point of view. Yeah, I’m defently cheating in this situation when it comes to writing this series. Hey, at least you get to know something about whats taking Dead End so long! Take it or Leave It hun!

Posted on February 5, 2010 by Paigee.
Categories: News, School, Sneak Peeks, Story.

WARNING! Do not read this if you want to read the end of Dead End first!

My eyes flickered to the door as it opened the cool breeze making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on their ends. A young boy was standing by the door hunched over, clutching at his side with small, pale hands. I stopped breathing through my nose when I saw the blood slowly come from beneath his fingers. The wind up, sending the smell in my direction, it was like rusted nails and salt. I started to look at what was here in front of me. His shorts were torn and stained with blood that ruined the orriginal khaki colour. His right shoe was missing, the sock ripped. The pale yellow t-shirt was ripped across his chest, stained with blood. I looked up to his face, seeing the familiar muddy brown hair and deep green eyes. Teh hair colour was my natural colour, and the eyes looked like Sam’s. The door shut and the boy started walking forward, gasping in pain. It only took me 2 seconds to work out who it was. My only son and only child…
“Blake!” I screamed, ignoring the heads from other police officers turning. I forgot I was around people who didn’t know about witches, wizards and collectors. People around me looked confused when they blinked at the sight of me being at the desk then at my son in the next second.

Yeah, so that’s it in Marie-Jane’s point of view. Hoping you have a wonderful weekend! I have English homework to complete. It isn’t fun either. Love yous heaps!

Rouge Agent – The book after Dead End. A little bit of information?

Posted on February 4, 2010 by Paigee.
Categories: News, School, Sneak Peeks, Story.

I know this is cheating, but in English at the High School my English teacher asked us to write a story, it didn’t have to be real. So I wrote the Preface for the 3rd book of the Family After Life Series. I won’t type that up here for two different reasons.
a) I don’t have it on me, Mr. Z has it to mark it.
and
b) Because I don’t let you’s see it until I’ve finished the full story.
SO, to make up for that, this is a part that WILL be in the story, but isn’t from Marie’s point of view. BUT! Before you read it, I have to give you a little bit behind reason two for the Preface. It’s because it reveals a little peice of information about the name issues with Marie. The whole point that we sometimes call her Marie-Jane, Marie or unhyphonate the Marie-Jane part. So that’s something that you might like. Okay, no more waiting, this is the little part that I’ve written that isn’t from Marie’s point of view.
WARNING: It reveals a little into the future of Marie, don’t read if you want to read Dead End first!

The large, creme door opened and the cool breaze from the overcast day entered the room, creating chills on the back of Marie’s neck. The small boy standing at the door was hunched over, clutching at his side. Marie began to breathe carefully through her mouth when she saw the bright red blood ooze from beneath the boys pale fingers, she could smell it as the wind picked up again. His kahki coloured shorts were torn halfway on the left leg. The pants were stained with blood. He was missing a shoe, the sock on his right foot was ripped in places. His pale yellow t-shirt was sut across his chest, blood surrounding the rip. Marie’s eyes landed on his face. His muddy brown hair, and deep green eyes looked familiar. The hair colour was close to Marie’s natural colour. The deep green eyes looked like her husbands. She noticed who it was in that split second as the door closed, her only son, & only child – Blake.

Soooooooo, How you guys going?

I’m up to Chapter 8 on that, I’m itrying to do a Family After Life to it, you know how many chapters Family After Life has? It’s weird! I’ve also been editing my other stories, since I actually didn’t put that much effert into the gramma and all of it. So yeah, I think thats it.
